Safety Net Check/Testing

Each fall arrest safety net has 3 test meshes and tags attached to it for yearly testing. One of these is detached and sent back to us every 12 months when the nets are in use.

The testing is performed on our Testometric machine which was imported from the United Kingdom. This machine is fully digital with the net being placed over two sensors and stretched until the mesh breaks. This reading is then sent direct to our computer. The mesh must pull a minimum of 2.2kn to remain in operation. If the mesh fails, a further 2 tests will be performed. If a mesh still does not reach 2.2kn, the net is deemed unsafe and must be decommissioned.
